Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose Ether (HPMC). It is a non-ionic cellulose mixed ether prepared by using high-quality refined cotton after alkali treatment, using propylene oxide and methyl chloride as etherification agents, and going through a series of reactions. It has the advantages of high degree of substitution, high content of methoxyl group and hydroxypropyl group, less ash content and high transparency. Soluble in cold water to form a viscous pseudoplastic homogeneous solution, insoluble in hot water. The aqueous solution has surface activity, is stable to acids and alkalis, and has the functions of thickening, water retention and moisturizing, excellent film-forming and cohesive properties.
